My Love of Music

I have always had a love for music (although I do know many people that would argue different). I started as a very young lad, when primary school had everyone playing the recorder. However it was when I went to Aberdare Boys Comprehensive that things started to get a little serious. During the first music lesson at 'the big school' the question was asked who would like to play Cello, my hand went straight up. Shame I had not been a little slower as other (smaller) instruments came later, but the Cello was to become the instrument I loved for the next 6 years. This was to become a major part of my life between a week 'band' camp twice a year in Ogmore, Monday Evenings at the Cynon Valleys Strings and Saturdays at the Glamorgan youth Orchestra. Is there any wonder that I still to this day love classical music.

Musical Taste

It was also around this time (when I was 11 years old) that my cousin played me Saxon for the first time and so was born my love of rock music.Saxon lead on to Def Leppard, Deep Purple, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Poison, Tesla and many other great bands. Added to this still to this day I still love classical music (I often go to see Katherine Jenkins) and opera. I love music and cant imagine a life without it.

With my love of rock music and playing instruments, my dad eventually gave in and bought me an electric guitar, something I still play very badly to this day.
